Neighborhoods are not enough anymore. The economy has shifted and changed so fast that neighborhoods are just where people live. It is not a place where people can grow financially, spiritually, mentally etc. In most cases people live in poverty and these places have become “Hoods.” As Americans, especially Blacks, we need COMMUNITIES. A community has 5 basic pillars that are controlled and operated by its inhabitants. These 5 pillars are
- Economics
- Politics
- Court system and Police
- Media
- School system
First and foremost, Economics is the first story. This means creating a business community that produces money, income and wealth. The only way to fight racism and the domination from corporations is to do it with money. Being able to control ones recourses and assets are a vital basis for the community. Poor people are powerless and more than likely not represented.
The second pillar is Politics. Voting isn’t worth anything if there is no money or economy. Money controls politics and who is given what. This means that with the money from the business communities, Blacks have to start buying politicians. Like the mafia, labor unions or any political PAC. Buy politicians who represent you and ONLY you. This way your interests, problems, needs or wants are front and center instead of swept under the rug like past civil rights laws and affirmative action rulings have fully neglected Blacks and their interests.
The third story of this building is the Court system and Police system. After establishing an economy or business class that represents the proletariat or lower class, next comes the court system and police. This means electing officials and politicians that will pass legislation that specifically protects you. For example, in America there is a phenomenon that Blacks are killed by police at higher rates than any other race or demographic. The fact that there have been no Blacks or Whites who have successfully passed legislation that specifically protects Blacks and punishes police or any authority who unjustly attack and discriminate against Blacks shows representation is grossly failing in every metric and also shows that Black life isnt valued as much. This same ideology fairs well in overpopulation of Blacks in jails, wrongful and harsh sentencing of Blacks and the complete and utter failure of predominantly black public schools. Because of the way the constitution has locked and boxed Blacks into a lower class, without adjustments to this system, things will continue to get worse.
The 4th story of this building is Media. Blacks need to start producing media in the communities that tell the truth and mobilize people through internet, tv or radio. There are 15 thousand radio stations in America. Blacks own 180 of them. There are 7 thousand television stations in America. Blacks own 10 of them. Despite being 13% of the population blacks are GROSSLY misrepresented in media and it shows in how the rest of the world treats Blacks through stereotypes and harmful ideologies about black culture. Most White corporations and media stations do not care or do not want to talk about Black problems. Blacks have to stop giving money and attention to corporations and media companies such as FOX news, Daily Wire or OAN news who hurt blacks through propaganda or messages via media. Luckily for us today, we live in the internet age. We dont have to adhere to normal media and the messages that are pushed.
The 5th and final story of this building is Education. With that being said, education is worthless without money. Education is a tool. It is not the be all to end all. Black college students including myself have and are graduating from colleges all over the country getting all types of degrees but cant even take what they are learning at institutions home to help their own community because they cant get a job. 99% of black college graduates have to go into someone else’s community to find work and opportunity. Blacks in America are the only people who face this problem at this high of a clip. Education is the 5th and final floor because it is like the icing on top of the cake. Once you gain control of the economy, politicians, court system and media then you can finally take control of the educational system. Black public schools need a makeover but until we get the first 4 floors settled, we cannot take back our schools and education system. Black students Kindergarten through college will be forced to be educated by and work for someone else. Doesn’t that sound sort of like slavery???….
